Sunday brought out more beautiful weather and 19 energetic volunteers to the same exceptionally trashed area of Steelhead Creek we visited the day before.

With encampment trash and large debris items buried in the channel and spread out expansively across the floodplain, many roles had to be filled: debris badgering in the water, land collection and extraction, water ferrying with the Minnow, land schlepping, levee sled/rope work and ultimately trailer loading and unloading. Phew! ????

Kudos to Scott who also started tackling a huge Sesbania grove, removing 450 trees! ????????

Despite filing the trailer twice at the same spot 2 days in a row (4 trailer loads), we are still far from finishing this area. Incredibly tragic, but not for long. ????????

Thank you for a great weekend everyone - the two very full dumpsters arranged by the City weighed in at 8,370 pounds! Teamwork Makes the Creek Work. ????????????
