On this trip, my friend Des and I went to a new venue to try our luck with some specimen carp fishing.

It was my first time camping during winter in 12 years, and I was eager to target some big carp. We were especially hopeful of catching a decent-sized mirror carp, for which this venue is well known. I was also very keen to test the new Fox Camolite Tarp on this session and it did not disappoint.

I hope you enjoy Part 1 of our session as we searched for fishy-looking spots, dropped the rigs, and waited hopefully for the night. Fortunately, we managed to get off the mark quite quickly.
