The Ginger Bunny fly is, in essence, a Flesh Fly. I use a natural ginger rabbit zonker on the fly because of the natural variance of color. The base of the hairs are light and the tips are a rich blend of light ginger to darker caramel.

This is a great fly to fish during the fall spawn. As the spawned out salmon die, they start to decay into the river and along the banks becoming a food source for both terrestrial and aquatic animals. Many sport fish species follow the salmon for the opportunity to feed on the rich buffet of eggs and flesh bouncing downstream.

You can find the full story in Anthony J. Route's "Flies for Alaska". I love the book and recommend it to anyone planning a trip the fish for salmon in BC or Alaska. http://amzn.to/2u3FVQT
