Fly Tying the Mcfly Foam GloBug Egg Fly Pattern for Steelhead, Salmon and Trout

I started tying these for my salmon fishing years ago but soon found that the trout and steelhead were also quite interested in eating these plump little egg flies. The McFly Foam material comes in a large spectrum of colors, but I tie most of my GloBugs in pinks, orange, and yellow which is well represented in the lineup of colors.

There are many ways to tie a Globug, but what I am showing is my preferred method. I tie them this way so that they maintain shape in the water. You can weight the eggs with a brass or tungsten bead if needed or place split shot on the leader to coax the egg into the strike zone.
