You Can Now Go Fishing In Flight Simulator

Somebody made a fishing add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Not a joke mod. A proper one, with a tackle box, line tension physics, and over two hundred species of fish.

So obviously I parked a cruise ship next to the runway at LaGuardia and went fishing while watching airliners land.

The add-on is GoFish by Parallel 42, it costs around twenty euros, and it is far more serious than it has any right to be. You choose your line type, your bait, your cast distance and your drag. You can turn off the auto reel and fight the fish yourself. And the fish you can actually catch change depending on exactly where in the world you are standing, because the whole thing is built on real marine occurrence data.

Which is genuinely impressive, and also raises the obvious question. Why is this in a flight simulator?

I caught an albacore tuna in Flushing Bay. I caught a one metre steelhead. I walked around a cruise ship holding it. I released it. Nothing happened. There is no score, no money, no progression, no reward of any kind.

Then I drove the cruise ship onto the runway, which went about as well as you would expect.

Please tell me what the point of this is. I still cannot work it out, and I have made a whole video about it.

Thank you so much for watching, and a special thank you to my members and supporters. New video every single day.
