Wild Native Brook Trout Bayfield County Wisconsin Father's Day 2025

In this episode of Squaretail Fishing TV, its Father's Day 2025 and we are fishing in the Chequamegon region of Northern Wisconsin in Bayfield County at a very rare, Wild Native Brook Trout Fishery catching native brookies in a spring fed Northwoods stream in the Chequamegon Forest. It could have hardly been a more perfect day. We caught upwards of a dozen fish each, closer to 15 for kiddo I think, and the episode finishes calling our shots hooking up a double; then kiddo adds one more just to show off a little hahaha. This is the stream featured on our webpage presently for bookings, and there will be at least one more episode released from this stream this year, another beautiful day I spent solo in the rain, however there are other sections as of yet untouched by us this year (and hardly anyone else gets to those more remote places) so with any luck we will put out another episode on this stream later on in the year. Or, please be a guest. Both my son and I have several personal best from different parts of this stream system, if you know where it is, say uh.., lets not share the name of this one, but leave a story in the comments--this stream commands quite the range of fish! We witnessed a near record volume of fry in the stream, surely some cohos among them, but possibly coasters as well, and likely due to removals of impediments to the Lake a few years back, allowing more lake fish to spawn further upstream. Really, we could just spend a lot of time in this stream alone capturing the Northwoods at their finest, but we will also be back in Minnesota for more streams there too. I was casting a 3/32 oz lure that day, a light blue fire-tiger color pattern, and it got the job done. Dang if the big ones have gotten away too often, but alas they are there for another day. As always, catch and release (most) fish with care, keep one or two for the pan--but don't be a punk about the fish you keep--(it's also okay to keep none), and always
