The original Pass Creek was created by the late Frank Moore to advocate for positive forestry reform across the West. Frank dedicated his life to conserving and protecting the North Umpqua watershed and the fish that call it home. A lifelong Steamboaters member, his legacy in the watershed will endure for generations.
The Steamboaters remain committed to protecting the North Umpqua, carrying forward Frank's vision and legacy through our continued advocacy and stewardship. The North Umpqua River—and its world-famous summer steelhead—were fortunate to have such passionate champions in Frank and his beloved wife, Jeanne. Their dedication continues to inspire all who work to conserve this extraordinary river.
