Join us for a peaceful late summer evening of Tenkara fishing at Lower Keene Creek Park in Duluth, Minnesota. With the sun dipping low and the cool breeze rolling off Lake Superior, a brand-new Tenkara rod is put to the test. The target? Trout actually, but they are shy by this time of year in a popular spot like this, and hooking a couple creek chubs darting through the clear waters of Keene Creek was just as fun this time. There are certainly chances for better fish here though.

This video captures the simplicity and rhythm of Tenkara—light gear, minimalist approved, and the pure joy of connecting with fish and nature in an unlikely--even counter-intuitive--urban setting at this small Northwoods stream. Whether you’re curious about Tenkara, enjoy creek fishing, or just want to take in the beauty of Duluth’s hidden green spaces, this evening on the water is for you.
