Monster pike fishing | return to Fight Club Lake

Can I redeem myself and finally catch a monster pike at Fight Club Lake? ???? On today’s episode of Angling Spiders, I return to a lake that gave me one of my most frustrating fishing trips—and this time, I’m looking for revenge!

The last time I fished Fight Club Lake, I hooked into 10–15 fish and lost every single one, before a tornado warning forced me off the water. My biggest pike that day was 32 inches.

This time, everything is different. The weather is beautiful, the wind is light, and I'm hoping for a much better hookup ratio—and maybe a pike over 32 inches.

It doesn't take long before the rod goes off.

And this time… I LAND THE FISH! ????

What follows is one of the best pike-fishing days I've had all year. I catch eight northern pike, with seven of them measuring over 30 inches, including a massive 36-inch pike that becomes my biggest pike of the year so far!

But the action doesn't stop there. I put several more big, healthy pike in the kayak, including fish measuring 33, 34½, and 32½ inches.

Then I switch things up and put a perch-pattern glide bait from Ragged Edge Lure Works to work—and the big pike keep coming! ????

Of course, no fishing trip is perfect. I manage to lose one of my favorite green and glow Len Thompson spoons after my line gets tangled in the trolling motor. ???? But with the number and size of the pike coming to the kayak, it's hard to complain.

Final tally: 8 northern pike — 7 over 30 inches — with a 36-inch monster as the biggest fish of the day and my biggest pike of the year!
