Well, the best laid plans .... Doug and I headed to a local spot chasing big carp, one where he had had a number of hookups on big fish just a few weeks back. After a series of small fish and one lovely coloured goldfish, plus 3 yabbies caught on our lines we still hadn't had a big fish appear.
A passerby who fishes the area regularly then informed us that there had been a big fish kill about a week back, resulting in dozens of large carp floating dead on the surface.
This was probably due to low oxygen levels as water levels continue to drop everywhere in South Australia's current record drought.
We still had a good morning out and the 'minnow king' still has his crown firmly on his head!
