This session started in freezing morning temperatures with frost everywhere and barely any activity. I managed one good pike strike but unfortunately lost the fish.
With the cold becoming unbearable, I decided to return later in the afternoon — and that decision paid off! Hooked into an aggressive pike that made a lightning-fast escape, plus landed a small pike before wrapping up the day.
This time of year fishing can be tough, but persistence makes all the difference.
