For Roy Akins, the river isn't just where he works. It's what makes his way of life possible.

As the owner of Rapid River Outfitters in Riggins, Idaho, Roy has spent his career connecting people to the Salmon River through guided fishing trips. His small business, like many others in this river community, depends on the seasonal return of Chinook salmon and steelhead.

But unpredictable fish returns have forced Roy to adapt, expanding his business to include other fishing opportunities and upland hunting trips.
