Fly Fishing for Steelhead in heavy current on the Legendary Salmon River! In this late February trip, the river was pushing 1100 CFS, creating powerful currents and tough fishing conditions. After working through the cold water and fast flows, everything came together with an incredible 28-inch steelhead landed in the net!

Winter steelhead fishing can be unpredictable, but when it comes together like this, it's unforgettable. The fish was still bright and chrome, thanks to the extremely cold temperatures slowing its transition. Seeing a fish like this so far upriver is always special!

This video shows the fight, the landing, and the conditions we faced while fly fishing high winter flows. If you enjoy steelhead fishing, river fishing, or watching hard-earned fish hit the net, this one’s for you!
