Chasing The Lord… Then THIS Happened! | Manor Carp Fisheries

The hunt for The Lord continues… but this session delivered something I’ll never forget - a stunning 41lb Lady of the Manor caught off the top, giving me a brand-new surface fishing PB!

With work keeping me busy at ParkerBaits HQ, this wasn’t a full week behind the rods. Instead, I was squeezing in short evening sessions, heading straight from work to the lake and making every available hour count.

The plan from the start was simple - surface carp fishing.

Fishing floaters and targeting carp feeding confidently on the surface produced action almost immediately, including a stunning 32lb carp, more commons, the beautiful Pretty One and eventually one of the most sought-after carp in the lake.

The final evening took things to another level.

After losing what felt like a seriously big carp following an intense battle, I changed the hook, got the floaters going again and made one more cast as darkness started to fall.

Halfway through eating a chicken wrap, the reel absolutely melted off.

What followed was an unforgettable boat battle before we finally slipped the net underneath a huge common.

Then I spotted the distinctive kink near the tail…

The Lady of the Manor.

At 41lb on the nose, she became the biggest carp I’ve ever caught off the surface.

Sessions like this are a reminder that you don’t always need days or weeks on the bank to catch special carp. Even a couple of hours after work can produce the fish of a lifetime if you keep putting yourself in the right position.

The Lady might not have been The Lord, but with another incredible Manor carp ticked off the list, the hunt continues.
