Michigan's Rifle River flows for 60 miles with no dams into Saginaw Bay. It is a good stream for steelhead, migratory brown trout and resident brown trout, which can reach 20 inches. The stream begins at the outflow of Devon Lake, which has a deep water draw to provide cool water during the summer months. From there down to the Klacking Creek access there are about 8 miles of public access from the Rifle River Recreation Area and National Forest land.
