In this video, our volunteer Fabio shows you how to tie the "Clouser Minnow" streamer fly. The original design is by Bob Clouser. This is a fly that you can use to target smallmouth, largemouth and peacock bass, crappies, trout, steelhead, and other freshwater species that eat baitfish. You can also use it for saltwater fishing. Use a non-slip knot to tie this fly on your tippet.

Materials list:
Thread: 140 white
Hook: Gamakatsu B10S Stinger hook size 1 – 10. I used a size 4. You can use a Daiichi 2546 for saltwater fishing applications.
Weight: Orange, red or yellow dumbbell eyes in size medium
Top wing: White deer hair (this will be on the bottom of the fly as you fish it)
Bottom Wing: Chartreuse deer hair (this will be on the top of the fly as you fish it)
Flash: Crystal flash or lateral scale fibers

Other color combinations for this fly are white/red, white/blue, chartreuse/pink, white/grey, etc.

Fly tying skill set rating = Intermediate
