Well, where do I begin, I have wanted to book this Lake for some time and after managing to get on The Lake I wanted to do two nights but could only do 24 hours in one swim and then we had to move at 7:30 in the morning to another swim for another night. The first day was pretty bleak and had problems with my bait boat that instantly put me in a bad mood. I had fish showing all over me but didn’t manage to catch and at 7:30 in the morning I was all packed down and ready to move to the next swim. This also was a brutal reminder of how British weather can be as the rain was horrendous, we got to the swim and got set up quickly more to hide from the rain than anything. I got the rods out with a bit of a rush not expecting anything and out of the blue the middle rod absolutely screamed off, the carp put up one hell of a fight under the rod tip multiple times I thought she was ready for netting and then she just went on a massive run again but eventually she did hit the back of my net and I was rewarded with a personal best carp on my first trip to The Lake, to say I was over the moon is an understatement.
