Alaska is known to have some of the greatest fishing on the planet, but most of the attention is given to salmon. Meanwhile, the state is blanketed with good trout fishing, too. On the drive from Anchorage to Valdez we opted to pull off on the side of the road near Thompson Pass and catch and release a few beautiful Alaskan rainbows. Armed with Pautzke Fire Balls and Pink Shrimp, Silver Label and Yellow Jacket salmon eggs we caught and released dozens of trout in a short pit stop while filming this episode of Pautzke Outdoors.
