Fly Fishing, some would argue that it is no place for competition. If I was to hazard a guess at how many people that fly fish actually care what is happening in the world of competitive fly fishing It would be less than 1%. If you were to go into any fly fishers box of flies or were to examine the tackle they are using I would say 90% of that has come from the world of competitive fly fishing.

So, this video was not easy to make, not from a technical point of view but from the part of me that is passionate about the sport going forward. Might be a little strange coming from a Scotsman but a lot of my friends still compete at the highest levels of fly fishing. They are not being best served by our current system. I want to try and encourage people to think about what I have said in this video and maybe just maybe between us all we can come up with something better.

The video is not here to illicit a bun fight in the comments section. It's here to start a discussion and stimulate debate in order to get competitive fly fishing at an international level back on track for our current crop of anglers. As well as creating an environment where people want to enter qualifiers to represent England once again.
