Team Pallatrax Takeover 2022 - Carp Fishing at Carpinsula, Belgium

Join Team Pallatrax as we travel to Carpinsula in Belgium. This was our first visit to the Pallatrax Associted Fishery which is a Stonze only venue, and had been delayed due to Covid19, which meant a few people were unable to join us but the 5 of us that made the journey had a great trip.

CarpInsula, is a beautiful nature reserve of about 11 hectares located near the Belgian town of Holsbeek. It’s only a short drive away from Calais, 140 miles to be exact.

It had been long forgotten until 2015, when Jelle, the owner, started his lifetime project in an abandoned nature reserve in Belgium named; Carpinsula. He turned this no man land into a real carp fishing paradise with only one goal in mind: bringing carp fishing and nature together with leaving the smallest footprint possible!

After three years of intense preparations, 5 different idyllic lakes opened in 2019. Each lake is for 2 anglers.

The 5 lakes open when we visited were, Belly Pool, containing 25 specimen carp, several grass carp, a koi, and two silver carp over 45lb.

Dino Pool, containing 9 different species of sturgeon and a good stock of carp.

King Pool, containing around 40 big catfish to over 2 meters.

Mint Pool, containing 50 specimen carp.

Origin Pool: The challenging BIG-FISH water, containing 25 carp, several grass carp, a koi, and two silver carp over 45lb.

Since our visit Frenzy Pool has also opened which contains 50 slightly smaller carp as well as a couple of large grass carp to 44lb.

We had 4 days to try and catch some of the beautiful Common Carp & Mirror Carp in the pools as well as the 9 species of sturgeon that swim in Dino Pool.

See how we got on, how our new products fared and how many species we managed to land. We also got to spend some time exploring the local town and enjoying the local cakes!
