Well the ice has thawed and the rivers are flowing. This is the time of the year when the rainbow trout (steelhead) come in from the lakes and into the river systems to spawn. These guys are different from salmon because they return every year. Salmon, after they finish spawning, that is the end of their life cycle. In the case of rainbow trout, after they are done their work in the rivers, they return back to the lake and continue on with their lives.
