I started Steelhead Fishing At 1 Pm and the fish did not start Hitting the Stoneflies until 4 pm on the trout Opener and they really like the Hunter green color in the Wiggler fly Patterns It goes to show you if you do not have the right color for these Steelhead trout you may not catch them I use egg pattern from Oregon Cheese to hot orange to pink and cream colors and no bites at all then I put on the Hunter green color and caught a Sucker and then it started the Steelhead started Jumping and it was fish on for about 2 Hours every 15 minutes there was a fish on and i Lost 3 fish off the back before I was able to finely catch one of these large Monster trout and it was still in the Silver color not chrome But a dark silver color yes it was a nice 8 pound hen Hot Dam the Steelhead were ripping of lots pf line and spitting out the hooks on the Flies I was about to give up on the trout opener and then it just started to happen as soon as the sun came out to light up the Hunter Green color on there rocky trout Beds the water was high so I could not see the steelheads on there beds and we had A EAST wind and that wind is not good for a Trout Bite we needed a west wind well you never know you just keep fishing until they turn on and hope you can land on and hope the bite is hot fro a couple hours Big Tim
