I hope you enjoyed what turned out to be a wonderful day of fly fishing for winter steelhead with my friend Wyatt. We used 7 weight rods and a single nymph rig to target these fish on a coastal Oregon river. The Oregon coast has been putting out a lot of fish this year! Catching a steelhead is always special, but when everybody on the water manages to get one that's a true achievement.

This was filmed in late February and there were a variety of fish in the river right. I connected up with a small chrome hen that had clearly entered the watershed recently, whereas Wyatt got into a veteran buck who had been in the river long enough to get into his spawning colors. Steelhead fishing this year has been exceptional, I'm glad you joined us for this adventure, and I hope you've been getting on some fish of your own!
