Sometimes the river has other plans! ????

Headed out to the legendary Keskikymi section of the Kymijoki River with one goal in mind: finding some old stocked Rainbow Trout (Kirre). I was throwing spoons all day, but the trout were nowhere to be found. Instead, I ran into some aggressive Pike and a nice Zander (Kuha) that couldn't resist the spoon!

The Mighty Kymijoki River ????
Kymijoki is historically one of the best salmon rivers in Finland. It’s a massive and diverse system where you can catch almost anything: Asp, Grayling, Salmon, Sea Trout, Zander, Rainbow Trout, Perch, and Pike.

The river splits into different branches:

Korkeakoski branch: Salmon and Sea Trout can run all the way up to Ahvinkoski and Anjala.

Langinkoski & Siikakoski branch: Equally strong runs of migratory fish.
