New film about the 2024 season opening at the Gaula Bridge Pool

The official season on the Gaula River begins every year on June 1st. This film allows you to relive the events of the 2024 season opening at the legendary Bridge Pool of the International Flyfishers Club – one of the most renowned Atlantic salmon pools in Norway.

Just over an hour later – still in the Nordic semi darkness – the first salmon of the 2024 season is caught. This start demonstrates why the Gaula is considered one of the best salmon rivers in Europe. The film features epic fights as several large salmon, weighing between 9 kg and 17.2 kg, are landed using a two-handed salmon fly rod.

The famous musician Terry Oldfield also makes an appearance, telling host Manfred Raguse how he is captivated by the sight of fresh salmon migrating upstream into the Bridge Pool. But viewers aren't limited to enjoying the Scandinavian salmon nights on screen; they can even join in the fun – there are still a few rods available...

Der offizielle Saisonstart an der Gaula beginnt jedes Jahr am 1. Juni. Mit diesem Film können Sie nachträglich miterleben, was sich beim Saisonstart 2024 am legendären Bridge Pool des International Flyfishers Club – einem der bekanntesten Pools für Atlantischen Lachs in Norwegen ereignete.

Bereits nach einer guten Stunde – noch in nordischer Dunkelheit – wird der erste Lachs der Saison 2024 gefangen. Ein Auftakt, der zeigt, warum die Gaula zu den besten Lachsflüssen Europas zählt. Im Film werden in epischen Drills mehrere Großlachse mit der Zweihand-Lachsfliegenrute im Gewicht von 9 kg bis zu 17,2 kg gefangen.

Auch der berühmte Musiker Terry Oldfield ist wieder dabei und erzählt dem Gastgeber Manfred Raguse, wie er der Faszination erliegt, die sich einstellt, wenn frische Lachse sich beim Aufstieg in den Bridge Pool zeigen. Aber der Zuschauer ist nicht darauf limitiert, die skandinavischen Lachsnächte am Bildschirm zu genießen, er kann sogar selbst mit dabei sein, es sind noch einige Ruten frei...
