Fishing is always an adventure. Whether catching fish or not, something can always make an average day spectacular. On this day I was Steelhead fishing the Cowlitz River as I always do. I focused on the Barrier Dam area because I only had a couple hours to fish before dark.

The next morning I planned on heading down to the Blue Creek area where most of the Steelhead are caught and that is when I was greeted with the surprise of my life upon retuning to my boat launch. My tractor went for a swim. In the next video you will see how I found it and how I recovered it from the river.

I also decided to refer to bobber dogging with a new spin. "Float Doggin'". Many people who begin fishing at an early age begin with a simple setup like a bobber (round red and white) and worm, hence the term "bobber" being a term generally associated with kids and or beginners.

As we become more experienced the term "float" is more often used to describe the variety of techniques used for the more advanced types of fishing styles like float fishing egg, float fishing jigs etc. So why are we referring to (bobber dogging) an advanced float fishing technique with a beginner type of term? This is why I am going to stop using the term "Bobber Dogging" and start calling it "Float Dogging". Crazy I know but hey, I need to grow up.
