Rock, Surf and Estuary Fishing SECRETS by MYDO Fishing Lures #shad #kob #grunter #stumpnose #perch

Tales from the Estuary!

The Umzimkulu cleans up magnificently through the dry season. During spring tides massive volumes of the blue Agulhas Current gets forced into the river. It is a spectacular show of nature.

And the fish love that blue stuff! In my last decade of camera work, I have come to learn heaps about currents, water colour, baiting, and fish!

This learning I have been able to apply to fishing with Mydos. For anyone here who doesn't know about Mydos, they are baitswimmers made from luminous/irridescent/glow-in-the-dark epoxy composite layers. They come is sizes from half an ounce for catching bait and small gamefish like tarpon. And right up to a heavyweight 8 Ounce developed specifically for the bluefin tuna over in Europe these days.

They were invented by hydrodynamic engineer and genius, Brian Davey, all the way back in the mid eighties. His patented design won the 1991 Cullinan Design Award for Engineering Excellence.

They Mydos can be rigged and deployed in a multitude of ways...

- in front of any skinny/fillet/pencil bait, cottoned on and thrown into the surf zone
- in place of a conventional jighead, the Mydos actually swim
- to swim a gamefish bait like sardine, shad, bonito, scad, mackerel (any size, we got the head and trace
- to drag the most beautifil belly shine along right on the right place and with the delightful Mydo swimming action
- they make bottomfishing so easy, neat and tangle-free

They catch both saltwater and freshwater gamefish.
