one of the key element to catching more surf perch is the ability to move around - a lot. most of the spots I go to on the initial stop usually don't produce. it's when I start moving around to find fish that helps me get my limit.
when I first come to a spot, I fan cast about 5 times to try and locate them. after another 5 casts and no bites, they are likely not there. so I move another 100 foot and repeat this procedure.
