After a week of horrendous weather ❄️, including a snowstorm and the canal being inches thick with ice ????, I finally managed to get back out ????
Following multiple failed sessions on the river ????, I decided to resort to the canal once the ice started to melt.

The pike were clearly fired up after being locked under ice ????, and although the fish weren’t massive, it was great fun getting a few solid bites in tough winter conditions ????
Sometimes it’s not about size — just feeling that hit again makes it worth it ????

Tackle used:
Rod – Purelure Shapen 15–85g
Reel – Westin W4
Line – 40lb Daiwa J-Braid
