In this video, our volunteer Fabio shows you how to tie a “Peacock and Hen” soft hackle fly. This is a wet fly that you can use to target steelhead, trout, panfish and carp.

Materials list:

Thread: 70 or 140 UTC Red
Hook: Nymph hook size 10 down to 18. I used a Tiemco 3761, size 12. You can tie this fly on a jig hook using a slotted tungsten bead.
Bead: Gold bead to match hook size
Tail: Chartreuse floss or crystal flash
Body: Peacock herl natural
Collar: Grizzly hen hackle


Skill level: Easy
