9/14 The Samish WDFW regs close a portion of the river to allow active/veteran military a low pressure fishing opportunity in a rather "combative fishing" area. I came down to fish here for the first time this season to just give it a try, and got my bonker. Come along with me for a little video on how everyone did here and how a good run of kings made a lot of folks happy.
* note, new rules apply here 1/4" gap hook tip to shank, roe (eggs) only, and only a swivel allowed. No leads, etc. please read the rules on the website.
This proves that you don't need to be snagging fish, they do bite eggs. My setup is 25lb maxima, Diawa Lexa 300, okuma 9' Heavy action, mainline right to the gamakatsu big river hook 2/0 and a glob of skein with scent.
