Have you ever wondered what the most isolated, inhabited place on Earth actually looks like - and how people survive thousands of miles away from the rest of humanity?

In this documentary, we travel across three oceans to visit three of the most remote islands on the planet, climbing a ladder of isolation from the edge of the North Atlantic to a volcanic fortress in the middle of the South Atlantic.

First, we explore the Faroe Islands between Iceland and Norway - where 55,000 descendants of the Vikings built the world's first undersea traffic roundabout 230 feet beneath the ocean floor. Next, we fly to Socotra Island in Yemen - an ancient landmass that broke away from Africa 6 million years ago, home to bleeding Dragon's Blood Trees and a 64-year-old fisherman who has lived his entire life inside a coastal cave. Finally, we touch down on one of the most dangerous cliff-top runways in the world on Saint Helena - an island so remote the British Empire used it as a natural prison to exile Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.
