In this video I take you through the tying process of my Silly Crab fly. I created this pattern as a really simple and lightweight fly to use to sight fish for Bass in the UK. Primarily fishing for bass in really shallow water, where they are very spooky, I needed a fly that I could present delicately and would represent the sort of prey that they are feeding on, as in the estuary I fish, at low tide, it's quite clear they are not feeding on bait fish or fry.
To tie the Silly Crab, as well as a hook, you only need 3 materials:
Size 10 Hook - Guru PTFE Coated Wide Gape Carp Hook
Semperfli Silli Legs in Orange & Black Barred
Crystal Flash in Peacock
Medium Olive Veniard Seals Fur Substitute Dubbing
Tight lines!
