Fly Tying A Euro Nymph: Signature Tyer Devin Olsen's Purple Blowtorch

In this fly tying video, Signature Tyer Devin Olsen ties his Purple Blowtorch euro nymph. This is an excellent attractor pattern that features our UV Tactical Microflash Dubbing for the collar, and a fluorescent tag for the tail. The tag used in this video is #1 Glo Brite, but you can use our Parapost Yarn in the flourescent colors as a substitute. We find this fly to be effective for both brown trout and rainbow trout. You can fish it while euro nymphing as either an anchor or tag nymph, but it also fishes great under an indicator. During the summer months, it's a great dry dropper nymph under a hopper or a big stonefly. If you're familiar with the Duracell nymph, we'd fish this in the same scenarios as you would fish that.
