My first time EVER ice fishing for steelhead… and it happened on my home water!

Fishing Little Traverse Bay near Petoskey / Harbor Springs, Michigan, I was lucky enough to hook into a beautiful steelhead hen—an unforgettable moment and a first I won’t soon forget. Northern Michigan continues to provide.

This was my first attempt at targeting steelhead through the ice, and after this experience, I can confidently say I’ll be back for more. Let’s gooo Mo Fishies!!
