The Diawl Bach is a multi-purpose Welsh stillwater fly. On our side of the pond, it works in larger sizes as seen here to roughly imitate leeches and other larger prey, and is also a good panfish fly. In smaller sizes with most proportions reduced, it's a good chironomid pupa. It's also appropriate to tie around Christmast due to the color scheme...
