We hit the road to Door County to meet up with Skyler, and it turned into an epic day of fishing. The backwaters of Lake Michigan hold some incredible fish this time of year, and Skyler put us right on them. We landed a beautiful brown trout and a solid steelhead, making the long drive more than worth it.
These feeder creeks and harbors off Lake Michigan are prime spots for big trout looking for warmer water and food, and the action can be unreal if you hit it right. Cold water, clear skies, and the thrill of hooking into these powerful fish—it doesn’t get much better.
