I don't want an Alaska Homestead or to Live Off-Grid in Alaska and It’s nearly impossible to find a riverfront fishing cabin in Alaska… so I decided to build one myself. In this first episode, I introduce the idea of building a cabin on raw Alaska land, show you the property with a drone flyover, and talk about the plan for turning it into my dream fishing cabin.
Of course, this is still Alaska — so while I share the cabin idea, I’m also fishing the river. Along the way I catch several silver salmon, a small sockeye salmon, and even a huge steelhead trout before ending the day filleting a coho riverside.
This series will follow the entire journey of building a fishing cabin in Alaska — from raw land to a finished riverside getaway. Not off-grid fantasy, just real Alaska living.
