I walked my Camino de Santiago from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain for two weeks in September. Check out my 14 episode series on my YouTube channel. After the walk, I came up with this list of ten tips from my time on the camino. Hopefully some of this helps you on your future camino.
Ten Tips List:
1. Protect your feet and your body
2. Stay hydrated
3. Talk to your fellow pilgrims
4. Only take what you need
5. Consider booking your accommodations ahead of time
6. Remember: It's not a race
7. Help out your fellow pilgrims
8. Be kind to locals and consider learning some of the local language
9. Download and familiarize yourself with the camino apps like: Camino Ninja
10. Keep an open mind and an open heart
Bonus: Look out for camino magic
Goodluck and buen camino!
About the channel:
Let's have some fun! Come along as I go fishing, boating, traveling, exploring, and more! I currently live by the seacoast in New England (where I grew up), but I've lived all over the US, have traveled to over 30 countries, and I used to be an Alaskan fly-fishing guide. I'm also an author of two fiction novels: "Taking on Water" and "Redemption Grove." Both these novels are filled with fishing and the outdoors. I love to spend my time outside--especially on the water. So, what are you waiting for? Subscribe to follow along and let's go on an adventure!
Disclaimer: don't try any of the stuff I do at home.
