Sorry for the language, I was too excited about hooking into my first brown trout on a centerpin.
We were fishing a new trib and it was hard to figure out. Water levels were very low and I must've walked up and down numerous times looking for deep pools. At one point I had given up but luckily I talked to a local. He mentioned that the levels was actually high compared to the previous day's. He said don't, look for pools but fish the smaller pockets and undercuts.
I went back to this spot again and worked it a bit more. Tried rainbow/salmon roe, beads, pink worms and nothing. My buddy comes down from fishing further north and he hadn't had any luck. I asked him for some brown trout roe he had and we started our drifts. Before I got my drift out he smashed one on his first drift. Helped him land and take pics. On my very next drift I lose a brown. We ended up pulling out 6/7 fish out of this small pool on brown trout roe. It's crazy because I worked this pool a good 2 times during the day and nothing.
Brown trout roe was the bait of the day.
