Tillamook in Oregon is surrounded by several river systems which offer steelhead fishing throughout the winter months. I joined Brandon and Ryan Wedam from @BnRTackle, and guide Ryan Beck for a day of winter steelhead fishing in late March 2026. The fishing turned out to be not what I had expected, in a good way!

We used G.Loomis IMX 10'6" spinning rods and Shimano Vanford 3000XG spinning reels for this particular fishery. The reels are spooled with PowerPro Super Slick 50lb braided line. 12mm mottled pink or natural, and cerise soft beads were suspended under the float to entice these late season chromers.
