Episode 47 | URBAN PIKE Fishing in Ireland – Giant Fish!

???? The Hunt for a 30lb Fish – Episode 2!

In this episode of Fish On Mate, we continue our hunt for a 30lb fish, taking the adventure into Ireland’s urban waters.

The plan is simple: catch a massive pike.

What actually happens involves us blanking, making a ridiculously large sandwich and watching the person fishing next to us catch a 24lb giant!

You genuinely couldn’t make it up. ????

???? Urban Pike Fishing in Ireland

We’re back out chasing pike and hoping this will be the session that brings us closer to our 30lb target.

There’s something exciting about fishing urban waters and wondering what could be swimming around right in front of you.

And as it turns out, there are some seriously impressive fish about…

???? A 24lb Pike Caught RIGHT Beside Us!

While we’re struggling to get a fish, the angler fishing next to us lands an incredible 24lb pike.

Twenty-four pounds.

Right beside us.

Absolutely ideal when you’re filming a series about trying to catch a giant pike yourself. ????

We show you the fish in the episode, and seeing a pike that size is a brilliant reminder of why we keep coming back.

???? A Seriously Unreasonable Sandwich

Thankfully, there’s one part of the day where we absolutely deliver.

Lunch.

We make a giant, delicious sandwich that is considerably more successful than our fishing.

If we’re going to spend the day blanking, we might as well eat properly!

It might not be the monster we came looking for, but it’s definitely a monster sandwich. ????

???? Blanking Is Part of the Adventure

We don’t catch a pike ourselves this time, but that’s fishing.

Some days everything comes together.

Other days, the person next to you catches a 24lb fish while you’re holding a sandwich.

Either way, it’s another day out doing what we love, having a laugh and keeping the hunt going.

???? The Hunt for 30lb Continues

This is Episode 2 of our 30lb fish series, and we’re still chasing that big moment.

Whether you’re into pike fishing, urban fishing, fishing in Ireland, big fish adventures or just watching two lads make an unnecessarily large lunch, we hope you enjoy another Fish On Mate adventure! ????????
