Spring runoff and high winds can make trout fishing a chore in Northern New Mexico. On a day when 50 mph winds blanketed the region we retreated to the high country and tucked into a canyon to salvage a few hours of trout fishing in the Carson National Forest.
Armed with Pautzke's new Chartreuse Garlic, Natural Deluxe and Pink Shrimp Balls O Fire salmon eggs we focused on upper stretches of Santa Barbara Creek and drummed up consistent action on small, wild brown trout while filming this episode of Pautzke Outdoors. All fish were caught and released.
