These fish are no joke!

These fish are enormous and acrobatic. Coho Salmon, King Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout, and incredible current make this some of the most hard fought battles that you will ever experience in your lifetime. On this particular day I fished the Douglaston Salmon Run (DSR) with friend and guide George Zervos. I spoke with at least 10 different anglers that day who had been fishing that area for years, some of them several decades, and they all said this particular day was the best they had ever seen in their lives. We had so much action that I ran out of memory card space and batteries, and couldn't film it all. The first half of the day was very slow. However from 2pm until dark it was nonstop, and you couldn't keep the Salmon from biting your flies. All of our fish were hooked in the mouth on flies. If you love fishing as much as I do you need to put this spot on your bucket list and experience for yourself the raw power these fish have. It is simply mind blowing, and my body is still recovering a week later. By far these are the hardest fighting fish I have ever encountered. Not even Tuna can compete with them.
