Not every carp fishing trip ends with screaming alarms and fish in the net... and that's exactly what this video is about.

I travelled to Northern Ireland for a three-day carp fishing session, hoping to get amongst the fish. The swim looked perfect, the rods were positioned, the bait was going in, and all that was left was to wait.

Unfortunately, the carp had other ideas.

Over the three days I stayed positive, kept the bait going in, battled some very persistent ducks, watched another angler land a lovely carp, and even found myself sharing breakfast with my feathered visitors on the final morning.

This is the side of carp fishing that doesn't always make it onto YouTube. Sometimes you do everything right and still come home without a fish. That's what makes those unforgettable captures so special.
