Temple Fork Outfitters is humbled to have been surrounded by some of the biggest names in fishing for the past quarter century. To celebrate this along with our twenty-fifth anniversary, TFO is excited to announce its Honors Series, a collection of a dozen short films honoring the legendary names that have helped shape the Temple Fork brand for all these years.

We hope you'll enjoy Chapter 1: Honesty - Gary Dubiel

Gary fishes with the following TFO rods with his clients:

Conventional
Inshore Series (https://bit.ly/37PIB4j) - "I fish the full series of Inshore Series spinning rods for everything; speckled trout, redfish, trophy redfish, stripers, bluefish, false albacore, cobia and much more."

Trout/Panfish Series (https://bit.ly/30fiv8B) - "I am also a big fan of the panfish series of rods and during the winter catch plenty of big panfish, shad and largemouth bass on them, even a few stripers and speckled seatrout."

Fly
Axiom ll (https://bit.ly/39XEYeO) & Axiom ll-X (https://bit.ly/306Eiik) - "For fly, both the A2 and A2 X are mainstays on the boat. The addition of the A2 X has really upped our game with trophy redfish and false albacore."

About Gary:
Capt. Gary’s passion for fishing brought him to North Carolina in the late 1980’s. Starting “Spec Fever” because of his love of speckled seatrout fishing. Moving from the Outer Banks to the Neuse River, Gary adding redfish, stripers, false albacore and so many other species to the Spec Fever hit list.

Always looking to improve his techniques, Gary pioneered the popping cork craze for NC giant red drum, turning what was a night time bait fishery into a day time artificial lure fishery. Progressing that one step further, Gary invented the Pop-N-Fly rig and revolutionized fly fishing for these giant reds.

Capt. Gary has written and lectured on both light tackle and fly fishing and he has appeared on a number of angling shows on ESPN 2, WFN, UNC-TV, NBC Sports, the Sportsman Channel and Discovery Channel (Europe). He is a frequent speaker at local and national fishing shows including the Saltwater Sportsman’s National Seminar Series, the Fly Fishing Show and the Virginia Fly Fishing Festival. He has also been featured in many major sports fishing magazines and in several books.

Gary is Advisory Staff at Gary Loomis’s Edge Rods, National Advisory Staff at TFO Rods, Pro Staff at Rapala, Sufix Fishing Line, and Cortland Fly Lines and professional guide with Costa Sunglasses, Penn Reels, Columbia Clothing, Simms, Power Pole and Lee Fisher. Capt. Gary is also the creator of the Pop N Fly that is produced by the Flymen Fishing Company.

Gary’s wife, Michelle and daughter, Shelby can often be found on the water with him, all sharing a passion for the sport. Gary and the girls also enjoy traveling abroad and are especially fond of Europe. Gary has visited both Ireland and Poland on several occasions fishing with locals and guides. His has enjoyed learning various fly fishing techniques developed in those areas.
