My brother and I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Throughout our childhoods, we lived near trout streams and thus learned to trout fish at an early age. Both of us have fished for and caught steelhead over the years but recently we both decided to try to fish for them more regularly. This is part of that story.

This all comes at a time when the numbers for steelhead, especially wild fish, are at a historical low. I do believe it's not too late for these fish and that we as anglers should be doing what we can to help ensure that there are wild runs of these fish for generations to come. One organization that I recommend people check out and get involved in if possible is Native Fish Society.
