After six years of trying to catch this fish, I get one in the net. Chasing steelhead is a different kind of fishing. It’s truly hunting fish. The top trout. The fish of 10000 casts, ghosts of the river. You will only catch one when you are truly ready. Physically, mentally, spiritually, your river knowledge, steelhead knowledge, gear, fly selection, technique, it all has to be right.
