In an attempt to redeem myself for my previous excursion I took the kids up to see if we could get some shad!

The wind was pretty blustery but the sun was out, so it was much better than the last time!

We lost a bit of gear but overall we had some fun! I still had some trouble casting but I adjusted the reel and it was smooth casting from then on.

Most people use shad darts when fishing for shad, I will if I have any but a lot of the time, I do just fine with a colorful 1/16th ounce jig head or just a bright bead above a hook.
