Was guided onto Cook Creek on the Quinault reservation for some winter steelhead action. Low clear water, 100 cfs. Saw a decent amount of fish jumping the hatchery dam. Saw some fish hiding around log jam holes.
Fished from 7am - 2pm. Could not get them to bite anything. Floated cured eggs, jig/prawn, jig/sandshrimp, 10-20mm soft beads with scent. Tried jigging for them too. Nothing worked. Throughout the day saw native guides bringing in clients to the creek and also hooked nothing. I walked through a stretch of the creek and tried different holes, saw fish but they won't bite anything.
Of the 8 hours of fishing only saw one person land a good sized fish floating cured eggs/sandshrimp combo. I'd hire a guide again in the future but prefebaly in early January and and when the Creek is running around 300 cfs.
